Certain leaders primarily manage by authority instead of influence. This could be shaped by their background or prior workplace. When the authority is limited, these leaders would struggle to lead effectively or feel having less impact.
This leadership style could be harmful to the organization. It creates stress among team members and weakens overall collaboration and productivity.
2. How to treat your team members appropriately?
First, don't lean on your authority even it is obivious that you have it. Treating people with respect always comes first. However, to maintain it could be diffucult especially in moments of frutiation or strong emotions
One technique I use when speaking to others is to image their mother standing right beside them. This makes me choose words more carefully and show more empathy.
